Why we burn Palo Santo

From South America and being used for centuries, Palo Santo translates to " Holy Wood". Used by Shamans and healers in sacred rituals, when burned it's believed to have both medicinal and therapeutics powers. Traditionally burned by the Incas for purifying, energy clearing, cleansing and healing. Known for its abilities to inspire creativity, bring love and bestow good fortune. All this and that beautiful smell, why wouldn't we burn Palo Santo? It's grounding powers and ability to calm an overactive mind are what make me associate the scent of burning Palo Santo with wellbeing.
